🕉️ How Mahakaleshwar Came Into Existence

Long ago, Ujjain (then called Avantika) was ruled by a good King Chandrasena.
He was a true devotee of Lord Shiva and spent hours meditating.

But not everyone was happy…
Some jealous neighboring kings wanted to attack Avantika. They teamed up and planned to destroy the city!

At the same time, a poor boy named Shrikhar wanted to pray at Mahakal.
He wasn’t allowed inside the palace temple, so he sat outside and started chanting “Om Namah Shivaya” with full devotion.

💥 Seeing the danger and pure devotion, Lord Shiva appeared himself — in the form of Mahakal — to protect his devotee and the city!

With one mighty roar, Mahakal destroyed the enemies and saved Avantika forever.
Later, the king built the Mahakaleshwar Temple at that sacred spot, and Shiva stayed there as the eternal protector.
